Metallurgy & Materials
Knowledge of BOF, EAF processes, casting, rolling, and heat treatment operations. Understanding of microstructure-property relationships in steels.
Proficient in metallographic sample preparation, hardness testing (Vickers, Brinell, Rockwell), tensile testing, and microstructure analysis.
Strong foundation in phase diagrams (Fe-C), crystal structures, defects in metals, diffusion, solidification, and corrosion behavior of materials.
Targeting roles in steel plants, quality control labs, and R&D divisions. Interested in SAIL, Tata Steel, JSW, and other leading Indian steel producers.
Steel is the world's most recycled material — over 1.9 billion tonnes are produced annually. India is the 2nd largest steel producer globally, and the sector offers massive career opportunities in production, quality, and R&D.
